Gnawa music has its roots in Morocco, the Mandingo empire, Mali, and other countries in West Africa, and it was brought by slaves who arrived in Morocco and traveled with their musical heritage and beliefs, the mixture of which became trance ceremonies to heal and cure the soul. Gatzara Quartet incorporates all this tradition into the African heritage music that sprouted in the United States, Jazz, Funk, and Groove in general, which are seasoned with wind melodies from various parts of the world, and lyrics in Arabic enriched with the ancestral languages of the Fula, Bambra, and Haussa.

La música Gnawa té les seves arrels al Marroc, l’imperi mandinga, Mali i altres països de l’Àfrica occidental, i va ser portada pels esclaus arribats al Marroc que van viatjar amb la seva herència musical i les seves creences, la barreja de les quals es va convertir en cerimònies de tràngol per a curar i sanar l’ànima. Gatzara Quartet incorpora tota aquesta tradició a les músiques d’herència africana que van germinar als Estats Units, el Jazz, el Funk, i el Groove en general, que són amanits amb les melodies de vents provinents de diversos llocs del món, i les lletres en Àrab enriquides amb les llengües ancestrals dels Fula, Bambra i Haussa.
